Engraved Disillusion – The Eternal Rest – Self-Released – Release: Out Now

download (7)The band’s been around for a few years now and it really shows when the album kicks off after the intro. They bring you a mix of modern melodic metal with harsh vocals, as well as softer vocals. There’s a big focus on the lead guitar and the melodies really do manage to hit that sweet spot. Just check out that sweet lead guitar to the intro of “Shadows Run Black” as well as the twin guitar harmonies in there!
While the band does get a big heavier now and then it’s all still fairly set in the softer range of metal, despite the harsh vocals. The songs are quite catchy and overall the band really has a style for itself, without sounding like they repeat themselves.
The biggest surprise about this band is that it’s their second album and they are still unsigned.
Hopefully this album will finally open doors for them, because with some good money put behind them they could make it pretty big.

Score: 4 out of 5
